Sausage Factory in San Francisco

I had the sausage and broccoli rabe - it was delicious. Cosy place with very attentive service. Highly recommend if you want a real Italian experience.My wife and I had dinner here 3 nights after the first visit and everything was perfect & only wish we had more days in San Francisco to explore more of the menu items 🙂👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇺

Ok pizza,when I went. Plenty of other choices near by. Not worth the hype

I lived in SF for 20 years before going to this Castro classic. Big portions of middle American Italian classics like Veal parmesean and pastas with a variety of sauce options. The mama salad, with real iceberg lettuce, is like a pre chopped Italian chop for the table.

The most amazing Italian good in SF. Loved visiting here with family, super friendly staff and amazing pasta that would remind me of Italy

Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. I had gone with my friends at night and it was pretty quiet, so not too sure about the day time but the food was delicious and all the staff that greeted us very kind and considerate of our questions and well. The layout and structure of the restaurant was rustic and overall not too bad of a price. Definitely worth the money you pay for!!

Since new ownership, this Castro legend seems to be on the up-swing. Great service, tasty food, and a great menu. Chicken parm is my favorite!

This is a family style restaurant, great food service and portion. Never disappointed. Love it.

Always a good meal in a cozy, comfortable, old world setting. Friendly staff also keeps you smiling with good humor. Traditional Italian dishes and fantastic pizza. Mama's salad is a must for sharing.

Incredibly mediocre food that I seriously worried if it was even safe. Out of 3 folks not one of us liked any of our dishes or the appetizers. Decor and food looked like it was from the 80's. Food was drenched in sauces or overcooked and dry. Service was only bright spot, we had a great waitress.

Food was ok but was not impressed with the Italian waitress. She has the potential to exercise Italian charm but fails by crossing the line into rudeness. She put her hand up in my face whilst I was trying to say something - a BIG 'no no'. Won't go back.

Engaged here!! Everything was wonderful and I had the A La Vodka and that was a-mazing. The atmosphere was busy in the front and comfortable in the back, would love go back and eat 2 plates.

Terrible management! We were chased out because the manager didn’t like that we complained after waiting an hour for a small pizza. Stay far away from this terrible place.

I will say that the Staff is excellent! The atmosphere is absolutely charming! Everyone was super friendly! If only the spaghetti was good...I ordered a simple dish of noodles with spaghetti sauce. It was just that... simple. It lacked much flavor and was on the smaller side of portion (especially for the price). I was with a large group (which the restaurant is not capable of seating because of space). Our service was fast, the drinks were wonderful and we got our food in a very timely manner! Other dishes seemed to be larger and more appealing, but don't go simple or that is exactly what you will get. I was still hungry when I left. I make a much better spaghetti at home and for a fraction of the cost.

Thought after several years we would give it another try. Poor quality food, I can't believe people actually like this. Ravioli are lousy. Costco has better frozen ravioli. Sauce was worse than Ragu. Where can I find a decent meal in the Castro?

Really great experience everything was great ! Seated right away , huge portions there italian so you know how that goes a lot of food! Great authentic italian wasnt a big fan of the location, but staff was great and so was the food ! We drove 1 hr to come try it !

Delicious, fresh food and great ambiance. This is a very small restaurant with a small(ish) menu so we were impressed by the chef's positive attitude when someone asked for a pizza with no red sauce and no cheese. The cheese plate was incredible, definitely will go back just for that!

Thought they were closing down a few years ago. Glad they didn't. The food is really tasty and the portions are decent. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. The only negative is very limited street parking.

Great atmosphere, adorable waiter, delicious pizza, accompanied with LOTS of wine.

We got seated pretty fast for a Friday night. Out meals were delicious, we got lasagna and puttanesca. Our waiter was very generous with wine tasting. I also loved the music and the art they have on the walls.

I'm not a big pizza eater, however they do make a pretty good "pie"... this is a great place for those feeling nostalgic for a little bit of San Francisco History and some neighborhood charm

The new ownership of this place has kept the same basic dishes and the enormous portions, but have definitely tried to make this more of a semi-formal dining experience, while keeping the mom and pop flare of its legacy. I love their pasta, though I know it's a bit overcooked for some tastes.

Nice restaurant and the waiters are hilarious. The food is OK, but nothing sensational and expensive for what it is. However, the experience makes up for it.
